The day-after-Thanksgiving frenzy that has traditionally kicked off the holiday shopping season arrives on November 24.
But the “Black Friday” brand, which shoppers see as synonymous with can’t-miss savings, was freed from a single day years ago when most big box stores used the name for online and in-store sales that have already begun .
For the purists out there who can’t wait to get up in the cold, dark early morning hours after Turkey Day and wait in line for a doorbuster sale or two, consider this your guide to Black Friday shopping in and around New Orleans.
Channel space333 Canal Street, New Orleans
Closed Thanksgiving Day. The largest shopping center will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 19.00 on Black Friday, but the individual stores set their own opening hours. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres will be available at 11.00 along with live holiday music from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m

The mall offers validated parking rates for the garage with proof of purchase of at least $20 from any store or food court location in Canal Place. Validation is provided at the Concierge Desk on Level 1 near the Canal Street entrance.
Outlet Collection on the Riverwalk500 Port of New Orleans Place, New Orleans
Closed Thanksgiving Day. Open 8am to 7pm for Black Friday.

Closed Thanksgiving Day. The main mall will be open from 7am to 9pm on Black Friday, but department stores may have their own holiday hours.

Holiday hours for Clearview have not been published yet. The shopping center is undergoing renovation and some shops are closed during the work.

Oakwood Center197 Westbank Expressway, Terrytown
Closed Thanksgiving Day. Normal opening hours in the shopping center on Black Friday are 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., but individual stores set their own opening hours.

The Esplanade closed due to damage from Hurricane Ida and was sold to a developer in January.
Walmart
Walmart has been rolling out Black Friday deals all month. The last round of offers starts online on Wednesday at 3:00 PM EST.
The stores are closed Thanksgiving Day and open at 06.00 on Black Friday.
Best buy
Best Buy began offering Black Friday deals back in October, and it will continue to offer discounts through Cyber Monday.
Stores will be closed Thanksgiving Day, and in recent years most stores have opened at 05.00 for Black Friday. But this year, most shops are open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m
Goal
Target stores will be closed Thanksgiving Day, and most stores will open at 6 on Black Friday.
Offers will be available online throughout the week of November 19.
Costco, 3900 Dublin Street, New Orleans
Costco is closed Thanksgiving Day and opens at 9 on Black Friday.
Early bird offers started in stores and online on November 13.
Home Depot
Most Home Depot stores will be closed on Thanksgiving and open regular hours on Black Friday.
