Cruise, the self-driving vehicle unit of General Motorshas issued a voluntary software recall after California authorities suspended the company’s license to operate in the state following an accident that left a woman seriously injured.
The recall of 950 vehicles will fix a software problem in the car’s response to collisions, Cruise said in a report submitted to federal authorities. Depending on the circumstances of an accident, driverless cruise cars will either move out of traffic after a collision or, in some cases, remain stationary, it said.
