Stage, screen and recording star Debbie Gibson has donated $81,000, her latest winnings from appearing on television Celebrity Name That Tune, to the Entertainment Community Foundation’s Actors’ Fund Home. Located in Englewood, New Jersey, the project offers assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care and short-term rehabilitation services to people who have worked in the performing arts and entertainment community and their families.
Gibson presented the donation surrounded by family and Actors Fund Home staff at a ceremony on November 15, where two memorial stones were dedicated to Gibson’s late mother, Diane.
“It is truly an honor to be able to give back to the place that took such great care of my mother,” Gibson said in a statement. “The services provided to the residents and the caretakers’ personal investment in not only the residents, but also their family and friends, is what makes the Actors’ Fund home live up to its award-winning status. My family and I take comfort in knowing, that the Foundation and the Home exist for all of us in the entertainment industry.”
“We are so grateful to Debbie for her dedication to Actors Fund Home,” adds Executive Director Jordan Strohl. “We are proud to be the trusted home for our residents, many of whom have dedicated their lives to bringing people the arts and entertainment they love. Thanks to Debbie’s generosity, we will be able to ensure that our residents continue to receive the compassionate care we provide every day.”
