Twelfth Night: Or What You Will by William Shakespeare

In this fall’s main stage, “Twelfth Night: Or What You Will,” the Goshen College Theater Department draws inspiration from post-punk youth culture in London, circa 1980, providing a new setting for the classic Shakespearean gender-bending romantic comedy.

The play is directed by Amy Budd, assistant professor of theater, and features work by Jonathan Sabo, adjunct professor of theater (scenic design), and local guest artists Marilyn Mason (costume design) and Robin Lambert (makeup and hair design).

The cast includes Phillip Witmer-Rich, Mairin Mendoza, Jocsan Barahona Rosales, Irish Cortez, Dontaye Albert, Terran (Teo) Kingsley, Fatima Zahara, Hermione Bean-Mills, Ray Tait, Naomi Klassen, Miguel Pineda Vasquez, Leif Billings, Daniel Stoltzfus, Jacob Stoltzfus and Liam Bird.

Twelfth Night is appropriate for all ages, although the show may be most enjoyable for those aged 11 and up.

Kimball Organ Series: Kid Brother

Friends of the Lerner will present the 2023 Kimball Organ Series, sponsored by the Community Foundation of Elkhart County and the Britt & Judy Murphey Family.

Organist Clark Wilson is a native of Ohio and a life member of the International Tri-M Music Honor Society. He co-stars in “Kid Brother,” a silent film that tells the story of a sheriff’s son who gets a chance to prove himself when a drug show run by con artists comes to town.

Chris Isaak: It’s almost Christmas time

During his 40-year career, platinum-selling and Grammy-nominated singer and actor Chris Isaak has performed to sold-out audiences across the globe with his longtime band Silvertone.

Recently released “Everybody Knows It’s Christmas” is Isaak’s second Christmas album of his career and contains 13 tracks of originals and covers. Isaak was recently honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Performance by Americana Honors.

“What Happened at Benham West”

The Goshen Theater will host the Goshen College Center for Community Engagement’s presentation of “What Happened at Benham West: African American Stories of Community, Displacement and Hope.”

It is a documentary about the exclusion of African Americans in the city of Elkhart, as told through the stories of 17 local elders.

The film explores life in the predominantly African American neighborhood known as “The Village”, segregation in the city, the clearing of Benham West and the hopes of some of the remaining elders.

There will be time for a Q&A after the screening.

The project is funded by the Community Foundation of Elkhart County and Indiana Humanities in partnership with the National Endowment for the Humanities.

Staten Island native Sal Vulcano is best known for creating and starring in truTV’s long-running hit “Impractical Jokers” and for “The Misery Index” on TBS. In addition to performing as part of The Tenderloins Comedy Troupe to sold-out arenas, Sal founded the No Presh Network in 2020, hosting “Hey Babe!” and “Tastebud” podcasts.

A carpentry Christmas show

Top Of The World is the world premiere tribute to The Carpenters and is fronted by singer Debbie Taylor. She is backed by a seven-man band consisting of top professional industry musicians. The band members are all multi-instrumentalists and at times use three keyboards to recreate the incredibly complex arrangements created by Richard Carpenter.
