Retailer Bloomingdale escaped accusations that it tracked what customers typed and clicked on its website, in violation of privacy and wiretapping laws, after a federal judge in Missouri dismissed the case on its own motion.

The claims of plaintiff Ann Jones against the Macy’s Inc.The company-owned company alleged no concrete injury and was legally indistinguishable from a recently dismissed action brought by its counsel on behalf of another client, Judge Sarah E. Pitlyk ruled Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
