Polestar will be the first to adopt StoreDot’s XFC technology
Polestar, a Swedish electric vehicle (EV) maker backed by Volvo and Geely, has announced that it will be the first car company to use the revolutionary fast-charging battery cells developed by Israeli start-up StoreDot. These cells can be recharged almost fully in just 10 minutes, making them ideal for electric car owners who want to avoid long waits at charging stations.
Extreme Fast Charge (XFC) battery technology
StoreDot is a leader in extreme fast charging (XFC) battery technology, which uses silicon-dominant chemistry to enable fast charging without compromising energy density or safety. The company has successfully validated its “100in5” XFC cell, which can deliver 100 miles of range in five minutes, at an independent battery lab in Israel. The cell has also shown superior performance compared to other EV batteries.
