The ‘Guard Experience’ event brings demonstrations, exhibitions, entertainment | News, sports, jobs
Bravo Co. from the 1/109th Infantry of the Pennsylvania National Guard will host a “Guard experience” open house from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, at the Williamsport Armed Forces Reserve Center, 1307 Grove St.
Event goers will be able to witness a military helicopter flyover, the Penn State and Rutgers game projected on a big screen, a drill observation station for hunters, a video game trailer, live K-9 demonstration and military equipment and vehicle displays.
“We will also have many military vehicles on display as well as military equipment and weapons,” Sgt. Wade Morehart said in an email. “We will also have a drill inspection station where hunters can bring in their firearms to get ready for the hunting season.”
The event will also feature food trucks.
The event will also feature visits from state Rep. Joe Hamm, R-Hepburn Township, and state Rep. Jamie Flick, R-South Williamsport, as well as state Sen. Gene Yaw, R-Loyalsock Township; state Department of Military and Veterans Affairs, state police, American Legion Post 1, VFW Post 7863, Boy Scouts of America and Wreaths Across America.
