The Philadelphia Police Department is introducing new software to speed up reporting of nuisance businesses

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The Philadelphia Police Department discussed new software and procedures designed to speed the process of identifying and reporting nuisance businesses.

The new software was introduced Wednesday at the Northeast Philadelphia police training center.

Police say the new reporting system will allow the department’s Nuisance Unit to more effectively target businesses that serve as breeding grounds for crime and violence.

The overall goal is to improve community safety.
