Yuba County officials said the launch of a new 3D zoning software system will make it easier for residents and developers to build and improve properties.
Previously, property owners had the only option to go to the Yuba County Government Center in Marysville to navigate development codes and land use information to add to or build structures. County staff were also tasked with research while also “juggling multiple projects.”
To free up staff time and make it easier for developers, the county has made Gridics – a digital zoning platform – available to the public.
“Yuba County is always looking for ways to better serve our community, and this technology is one way to do that,” Assistant Director of Yuba County Community Development Kevin Perkins said in a statement. “We hope that a bridge between the public and the information they need to develop will cut down on unintended red tape and obstacles.”
Officials said the interactive Gridics software will allow users to search their address or parcel number and see details such as the current zone, existing building and land use, permitted uses, school districts, additional regulations, boundaries, specific plans and links to relevant development codes.
“This information will increase efficiency, promote transparency and accelerate project schedules,” county officials said.
Users can access the interactive zoning map, zoning control and zoning/land development codes at yuba.org/zoning.
